Full-Day – Lake Titicaca – Uros & Taquile Islands

Day 1: Arrival

Breakfast in the hotel, and then embark on a boat tour of Lake Titicaca, the highest navegable lake in the world. Titicaca conjurs thoughts of magic and and a place where time stands still. First stop are the floating islands of Uros composed of 40 isolated, hand-made patches of grass reed bricks harvested from marshes around the lake, and where the local inhabitants maintain ancient customs and traditions of how to survive on the islands.

From Uros, you will continue further into the lake to the Isle of Taquile that has a landscape very different than Uros, featuring Inca terraces full of colors based in the happy, warm colors of the clothes worn by locals and demonstrated in their hospitality. Visitors are invited to participate in meals, chores, customs and traditions of the locals in a beautiful cultural exchange.
