Tickets are issued for either the morning window or afternoon window, not both. Learn about the 2 time windows for entering Machu Picchu.

Both hikes are optional and require you to make a reservation at the time you purchase entrance tickets. The Sun Gate hike is also an option for travelers with 1 day at Machu Picchu.

1-Day to Visit Machu Picchu
Option A – Visit + Overnight in Machu Picchu pueblo (aka Aguas Calientes): arrive by train the day prior, stay overnight in Machu Picchu pueblo (aka Aguas Calientes), visit Machu Picchu in the AM window the next day, return to Cusco or Sacred Valley late afternoon / evening.
Option B – Visit & Return to Cusco or Sacred Valley Sam Day: leave hotel early AM, train to Machu Picchu pueblo in the morning, lunch in town, entrance to Machu Picchu in the PM window, return to Cusco or Sacred Valley late afternoon / evening.
RECOMMENDATION: we do NOT recommend trying to hike Huayna Picchu or Mountain on a 1-day, AM window visit to Machu Picchu due to timing coordination, tho it is possible IF you are in extremely good physical condition AND you complete the citadel tour before 8:30AM. It is not possible to hike Huayna Picchu or Mountain on a 1-day, PM window visit.
2-Days to Visit Machu Picchu
Option C (train) – Visit PM Tour + Overnight + Visit AM Hike: leave Cusco or Sacred Valley early AM, train to Machu Picchu pueblo, lunch in town, entrance to Machu Picchu in the PM window for a guided tour, stay overnight in Machu Picchu pueblo (aka Aguas Calientes), visit Machu Picchu in the AM window the next day to hike Huayna Picchu or Mountain, return to Cusco or Sacred Valley late afternoon / evening.
Option D (Inca Trail) – Visit PM Tour + Overnight + Visit AM Hike: leave hotel early AM, train to km 104 of the Inca Trail, hike last leg of Inca Trail and enter Machu Picchu citadel through the Sun Gate late AM, overnight in Machu Picchu pueblo, next day entrance to Machu Picchu in the AM window, hike Huayna Picchu or Mountain, return to Cusco or Sacred Valley late afternoon / evening.
RECOMMENDATION: taking 2 days to experience Machu Picchu is recommended IF you are able to take your time and take it all in. Whether you arrive at Machu Picchu by train or Inca Trail is a personal preference based on physical fitness level and whether you prefer hiking.
MACHU PICCHU BASIC PACKAGE
(Entrance + train + bus)

- round trip train transportation from Poroy Station in Cusco or Ollantaytambo Station in the Sacred Valley.

- choice of 1-day or 2-day experiences (for 2-day experiences, includes 2 entrance tickets; passenger responsible for their own bus tickets and hotel accommodations).
RECOMMENDED FOR:
- travelers who already have hotel accommodations, guided tour scheduled, and bus ticket from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.
- independent travelers who like to coordinate their own logicstics, but see value in convenience of buying entrance ticket & transportation at same time to make sure arrival and entry times are coordinated.

- travelers who desire a complete package to make the most of their excursion to Machu Picchu from Cusco city, and want the logistical & cost-saving benefits of working with a local Peru travel agency.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Please fill out the form and use your information as Passenger #1. Once you submit your request, prepare to provide photo proof of valid identification for yourself and the remaining passengers on your trip.
Once you submit your reservation request, our reservations team will contact you by email to confirm receipt of your request, and to collect all necessary passenger information for each requested entrance ticket. Reservations are not confirmed until all passenger information is collected and you receive an entrance ticket reservation confirmation email.
Once you receive confirmation of your reservations, you will need to print your actual tickets once you arrive in Peru. Or, if you purchase your Machu Picchu entrance tickets as part of one of our travel packages or full-day tour experiences, we will print your actual tickets and give to you as part of your Welcome Package upon arrival in Peru.
Machu Picchu entrance tickets cannot be delivered to you electronically, regardless of where you purchase them. You will always need to print them once you arrive in Peru prior to boarding the bus to the entrance.
