5 Days – Cusco choose your adventure

Day 1: Cusco

Reception at Velasco Astete airport for transfer to the chosen hotel. Overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 2: Cusco / Aguas Calientes

Breakfast.

Transfer from your hotel to the train station where your trip to Machu Picchu begins by train service. The 112km railway route between Cusco and the Aguas Calientes station is parallel to the Urubamba River, during your tour you will appreciate the beautiful vegetation characteristic of the high jungle and majestic snowfall, you will cross two tunnels and finally arrive at the Aguas Clientes station.

This day you can enjoy a buffet lunch at a Local Restaurant. Overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes / Huayna Picchu / Machu Picchu / Cusco

Breakfast. Very early the tourist transport minibuses will be boarded, which, after 8 km of ascent, will arrive at the architectural complex of Machu Picchu. According to the indicated time the ascent to the Huayna Picchu will begin that has a very steep and narrow road, which includes several sections with steps carved into the rock and cables. The ascent is approximately 1 hour. The peak has a height of 2700 m and the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is at a height of 2400 m so it rises 300 m. The top of Huayna Picchu is the perfect reward of the effort. From that point you can see the Inca Citadel and the surrounding nature like nowhere else. From there you can also see the town of Aguas Calientes, the Vilcanota (aka Urubamba) River, the Putucusi and even the snowy Salkantay peaks. After the descent and at the agreed time, we’ll meet at the designated point to begin our guided tour on a path that leads us to the unique citadel where we find squares, temples, reservoirs, stairways, water sources, platforms, lookouts, cemeteries … as well as the temple of the sun, the Intiwatana (solar clock), and the temple of the three windows among other charms. In the afternoon, return to Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 4: Cusco / Vinicunca or Palcoyo / Humantay Lake

Breakfast. This day you will have the option to choose one of the following tours:   

1. VINICUNCA / RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – Pick up from the Hotel 6:30 am and then head towards the southern area of Cusco for an approximate 1 hr 40 min drive to the town of Quiquijana (Colca Community) where we can use the hygienic services in the AYASQA TOURIST RESTAURANT, then we will continue for 1 hr 20 mins more until the Community of (Fulam Wasi Pata), parking area 4,630 m altitude approx. From here we will begin with our walk through an easy-access path for an estimated time of approximately 1 hr 30 min, and we will reach the top of the Rainbow Mountain, where we can appreciate magical landscapes located at 5,000 m above sea level. After enjoying the wonder that our mother nature presents, we will return by the same route, where our transport awaits us and then we will move for 1 hour to the Restaurant to have the buffet lunch. Later we will return to Cusco, approx. 5:00 pm (left at their respective Hotel).
2. PALCOYO – Very early we will pick you up at your hotel @ 5:00 am, and then we will start with a trip through the South Valley until we reach Combapata. Along the way we can observe animals from the area and beautiful landscapes. Then we will continue with our trip. Once we arrive at our destination we will have a leisurely walk, where we will have access to privileged views of this part of the mountain range, with three mountains of colors visible from the highest point. Then you will have an explanation of the Guide and you can take unforgettable photos and visit the place. Finally, we will return to our vehicle and drive for 1 hour to the Checacupe bridge, a suspension bridge manufactured by the Quechuas to favor the connection of the Inca empire. Then, we can have lunch and have a little rest, and continue our trip to the city of Cusco.
3. HUMANTAY LAKE – We will pick you up at your hotel between 4:30 – 5:00 am and then go on our private bus to the town of Mollepata for a time approx. 2 hrs 45 min., located in the lush valley of the Apurimac River. After our breakfast we will continue with the trip for 1 more hour until we reach Soraypampa (3,900 meters above sea level). After organizing and a short rest, we will start with our walk to the beautiful Humantay Lagoon that is about (4,200msnm) which takes approx. 1 hr 30 mins. We will ascend from where we can appreciate the scenic beauty of Salkantay Mountain. Later we will return to our camp to have our lunch with beautiful panoramic views of the snowy peaks and return to Cusco and arrive at approx. 6:00-7:00pm.

Day 5: Cusco/… 

Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to board your national and international flight.
